Build basic machine sewing and pattern making skills with this exciting project. Go patternless! Bring a pair of drawstring pants/pj bottoms and learn how to use them as a template.
Make a pair of simple, comfy pants and add your own details – then use the techniques you learn to create them for the whole family! Give homemade this season!
Get creative with your fabric choice – fun and bright? Cozy and grey? Seahawks fabric for the 12th man or woman in your life?
Please bring an existing, well-fitting pair of drawstring lounge pants (elastic waist ok, too!) or PJ bottoms – you will use these to make a template!
Also bring: Sewing machine, scissors, fabric pattern marking tools (tailor’s chalk or pencils, for example), pins, elastic (enough for waist measurement), polar fleece or flannel (1 yard for smaller kiddos, 2 1/2 yards for tweens-adults), and any additional contrasting/coordinating fabrics, ribbons, rhinestones, patches, etc. that you’d like to use to personalize your comfy pants.
**One parent and one child working together counts as one student (child is free when with a parent).**
