Hi Farm School Family!
I am so pleased to announce that we have a new and permanent home for the majority of our classes!! We will be renting the West Seattle Veterans Center (the newly named American Legion building with the canon in front) starting in March to host cooking, sewing, crafting, gardening and workshop classes!
We are so excited about this for so many reasons! First – we have a KITCHEN!!!! And a large, beautiful space for SEWING!!!! We will be able to host several classes at the same time in the same location, offering everything we’ve been wanting to offer for you, AND we get to support the great American Legion organization both financially and through public awareness!
Supporting our men, women and families who have served our country in the Armed Forces is one of the highest honors we can be given, and the American Legion post here in West Seattle is the only one left in Seattle that still owns their building and have the capability to offer all the services to veterans in one place, instead of having to go all over town for various services.
Seattle has over 134,000 military veterans and our post in West Seattle is in the process of remodeling and updating their building to be even more useful to veterans than ever before. Keith Hughes, Post Commander, has big dreams of making it a very family-friendly place with a kids area, gardens, soup and coffee bar, outreach to homeless veterans and a one-stop shop for everything a service member needs when returning home from military duty. We are so happy to be a part of it and help make their goals a reality.
Every class you take with Seattle Farm School will provide part of the tuition towards helping veterans through the American Legion hall!
Please sign up for a class at our new home at the West Seattle Veterans Center and help them help others!
Here are a few pictures of the new home…consider these the “before’s” as I know the building will be changing over the next couple of years! Just like the American Legion and Seattle Farm School are a work in progress, so are all of us! Seattle Farm School is proud to have a home here in West Seattle!
The beautiful ballroom with a gorgeous chandelier from Chicago made in the early 1900’s. The ballroom will be the location for our sewing, crafting, soap making, natural home and body care classes and coming this fall….FARM FEST!!
The entryway / lounge area – also a great location for smaller classes!

The kitchen, currently being remodeled into a commercial kitchen – with LOTS of room for classes!
