CHILDRENS LEARNING GARDEN

This spring we are starting a free childrens learning garden in partnership with The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist next door to West Seattle High School. The purpose of the garden is to provide healthy and delicious fruits and veggies for kids to snack on, learn how to grow and help nurture. We will also be growing food for the West Seattle Food Bank. Everyone is invited to participate – help us plant, grow, water, weed, harvest and share! We will have fun activities throughout the growing season – a planting party, summer picnic and a harvest festival with fun things for the kids to do, and recipes made from what is growing fresh in the garden!

We would love your help!  Stay tuned here as we proceed with the garden plans.  We’ll post meeting dates and information and updates on the progress of the garden!

We want to extend the warmest thank you to Territorial Seed Company for two gigantic donations of seeds for our garden – this is possible because of them and their generosity!!

Upcoming dates!

Sunday, April 19, 12pm: Earth Day Planting Party!

Come help us plant the garden!  All ages welcome!  We will meet in the garden at noon and plant all the seeds and plant starts and celebrate this great new garden for our community!

All events will be at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church: 3050 California Ave Sw, Seattle, WA 98116. The Garden is off Hanford on the short block of 42nd between the church and the high school.  We will be there or in the big room up the stairs from the garden.
